Food Programs Available To Clinton Area Residents
The Clinton Food Pantry is operated by the Clinton Ministerial Council. Distribution is centralized at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church which also maintains a food pantry. Food is available for people in the Clinton area who have an emergency need for food.
In addition, through a Commodities Program, certain surplus food items are distributed at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church every other month on a first-come, first-serve basis. Eligility for the program is based on federal guidelines for family income and the number of people in the household. Individuals must show identification indicating that they live in Rock County to pick up these food items.
The SHARE Program, operated through the Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church, is available to anyone in the Clinton area who is interested, regardless of individual or family income. Each month, in return for paying a certain amount of money and for donating a certain number of hours of community service, a person may receive 25-30 pounds of meat, vegetables, fruit, and miscellaneous items.
