Highways
Located in southeastern Rock County, Clinton is seven miles northeast of Beloit and 14 miles southeast of Janesville. The city of Rockford, Illinois is about 25 miles southwest of Clinton, and Madison is about 60 miles to the northeast.
State Highway 140 links the village with I-43, just one mile north of Clinton. I-43 is an interstate that traverses southern Wisconsin from Beloit to Milwaukee, which is just over an hour from Clinton. This interstate also links Clinton with Delavan and other communities to the east in Walworth County. The other major transportation network in the area is I-90, just seven miles west of Clinton. This interstate provides a major link to the Chicago metropolitan area, just 1 1/2 hours to the southeast.
Rail Service
The Chicago and Northwestern Railroad provides freight rail service to Clinton. It links the village to Janesville and other cities to the northwest, as well as to Harvard, Chicago and other cities to the southeast.
Air Service
Clinton residents have access to the large number of commercial airlines serving the metropolitan airports based in Rockford, Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago. Flight information can be obtained by contacting a travel agency or individual airlines.
In addition, there is a privately operated airport on County Highway P in Beloit and a county airport on U.S. Highway 51 halfway between Beloit and Janesville. Both airfields are available for the use of private aircraft and rent space and tie-downs to owners of such aircraft.
